Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Designer or Civil Design Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a design-focused environment and enjoys transforming survey data into complete, build-ready civil site plans.

This is a hands-on production role—not project management—where you will take the lead in developing grading plans, utility layouts, and stormwater solutions with minimal oversight. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically strong, and takes pride in producing clean, well-organized plan sets.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed civil site designs using AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Create grading, drainage, and utility layout plans
• Perform stormwater modeling using HydroCAD
• Prepare stormwater management reports and drainage calculations
• Design storm sewer systems, ponds, and related infrastructure
• Develop erosion control and utility plans
• Produce complete, permit-ready construction plan sets
• Collaborate with internal survey teams to integrate field data
• Assist in responding to municipal review comments and revisions

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in civil site design or land development
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Experience with HydroCAD stormwater modeling
• Ability to independently complete grading and drainage designs
• Proven experience preparing full civil plan sets for municipal permitting
• Solid understanding of site grading, utilities, and stormwater systems

Preferred (Not Required):

• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Minnesota
• Familiarity with Minnesota municipal review and approval processes
